Chicago nice area for young people?

I will work in aurora but defenetely want to live in chicago. I would like to know which area is nice to live in chicago, that is near (to walk, maybe) to Union Station or a station in the metra line going to Aurora. I don't want to live in the suburbs because I will just be one year in the states, and want to live in a nice big city as Chicago. Thank u!!!

Try the area around Greektown, also known a West Loop. Lots of new condo development in the area, near Greektown, a great place with great restaurants and a few bars, close to the Blue Line train and a short walk or bus ride to Union Station and the train to Aurora.

I've put a few links to Greektown/West Loop apartment services and attractions below.

Near West Side is good, University Village near UIC is good. You dont have any other good options on the train line out to Aurora since it goes thru some not so desirable neighborhoods on the southwest side after the train leaves Union Station.

Think about the area South of Lake, North of Roosevelt, West of the Lake (or realistically, Canal) and East of Ashland.
Near west side is where you want to be, if you want to be near Union Station. The real question is. Can you afford it??
Greektown (West loop) would be the best place. It is near University of Illinois at Chicago. Lots of good Bars, clubs, resturants. More importantly Union Station is within walking distance. I just hope that your workplace in Aurora is close to the metra station. I say that because there is no regular bus service in Aurora.
