Dell acquired alienware , see the link for the information.

What you need to do is get something with a Dual Core, 64 bit support, good on chip cache and a ton of ram. I suggest you get nothing under 4GB of Ram and have a system that you can upgrade to 8MB or Ram.

Video cards change so fast, whats hot today may not be by December. Get something that you can crossfire or SLI and add two together, its more high end for gaming those first person shooters. Toms hardware has a excellent guide for picking the right video card choices for max performance.

lastly, check out the review of this machine compared to others. It might be what you are truely seeking. This is the 3rd link on the page.

I wish you well in your search for a high end machine at a good price.
I would like IBM with Vista, the wireless things.
go for the intel. if you can, buy the core 2 extreme for maximum gaming experience.
You should get the Dell one. I have 2 of them. They work very well!
Want to know a secret? Dell owns Alienware! Alienware computers are Dell computers in prettier packaging and built more in tune to gaming spec. So, get the Alienware with confidence that you've bought a Dell, but for games.
DELL with Windows XP professional. VISTA is still not compatible with all programes. Peoples are complaing about VISTA.
Alienwares quality is not that nice with my experience. Dells ia good solid computer a alienware is just a overpriced prettycased computer with a graphics card to be honest. Save money and go with dell as long as you have a good ATI/Nvidia card your good to go. oh dont forget the 2gs of ram for good gaming =)
