1996 Oldsmobile Aurora picked up from DAS in Gardena, CA. Blowing white smoke when started up. Also, no ater in radiator. 3 miles from pickup point, car overheating. Dealer stated car was in good condition. Obviously, they fibbed, and obviously the problem existed when dealer drove the vehicle to DAS in Ft. Lauderdale for shipping. We suspect a blown head gasket. Is there hope for resolving this with no expense to us?

Does the phrase "as-is" meant anything to you? Unless you had some kind of warranty (highly unusual) for the purchase. no. It's your car, problems and all.

Unless you have a warranty on the vehicle, you're SOL. It's unfortunate it happened this way, but (assuming no warranty) at least you should have learned a lesson - never buy a car without seeing it in person or paying for a trusted inspection service.
What I suggest from all is to check the Feed Back from everyone involved, I have purchased 3 Boat,s from EBay and was completely Satisfied with all of them.
I Have had a problem with Pay Pal, someone tried to charge a TV and stereo system to my PP account fortunately Pay Pall ask es before they pay. HHHEEEWWW That was to close.
