Have you ever just been looking at something in Nature like a certain bird or flower or natural phenomenon like the Northern Lights... and had a profoundly spiritual experience brought on by the incredible beauty, complexity or uniqueness of the sight?? For example, when I see the Aurora Borealis it stirs my emotions in a way that is hard to describe... it comes from thinking about how it happens, its incredible when you realize that the particles causing the beautiful lights are carried to the earth on solar winds from the eruption of solar flares on the sun and funneled along the magnetic lines of force of our planet where they collide with atmospheric atoms and molecules and ionize them, then the energy is released from the ionized atoms and molecules in the form of visible light.... oxygen produces green or red light, nitrogen produces blue light. Its incredibly profound when you think about it and very spiritual in a way. Has anyone else experienced this??
Have you ever had a profound spiritual experience because of Nature? (Independant of organized religion)?mcaffee
I've never seen the northern lights, but Ii have felt nature although i don't think of it as a spiritual feeling.
Sitting by a creek bank watching water flow over a few high places in the creek(rocks) rocks causing a small waterfall.
I stopped fishing and just sit there the rest of the afternoon thinking of how at one time this planet was a hot boiling mass of gases and liquids which cooled down to form the seas and land.
